IS THIS TRAINING FOR ME?

POTENTIAL FOSTER/ADOPTIVE PARENTS:

You are exploring adding to your family via adoption. Whether through private domestic adoption, international adoption, or foster-to-adopt, you will benefit from learning all you can about, not only adoption, but brain development, early trauma and parenting strategies.

FOSTER PARENTS:

You are a temporary parent to traumatized children.  You are trying to provide stability and make a difference in children's lives, if only for a short time. You are in the trenches of parenting trauma. This event will help you in developing strategies to effectively parent through trauma!

ADOPTIVE PARENTS:

You already have adopted a child …but…even if you adopted at birth, your child may have been traumatized or exposed in utero. You’re struggling to make sense of your child's behavior and want to understand how to help your family heal. This event will be what you need to make your family connections stronger.

CASAs/GALs/SOCIAL WORKERS/CASE MANAGERS:

You work with traumatized children or foster/adoptive families.  You want to help families become stronger with emotionally stable children, and may not know what to suggest.  This event is your first step to understanding what is really going on in the home.

POWERFUL STRATEGIES TO STOP DIFFICULT BEHAVIORS

IN THIS FREE TRAINING, YOU WILL LEARN:

-What really causes negative behavior;

-What defiance is really about & what you should do about it;
-What to do when a child blames everyone else;
-Why parents need to let go of control and, thus, stress;
-The importance of meeting your child at their emotional age;
-What a parent must do after a blowup; and
-How to handle lying, stealing, and food hoarding.
